Detox Your Home: Thieves-style
Have you heard of Thieves essential oil blend? It’s a fantastic blend for helping support wellness, and Young Living has developed an entire product line based on it, including several cleaning products to help you get rid of those nasty chemicals found in other brands!
“You might not think much about the ingredients in your toothpaste compared to the ingredients in your food or even other personal care products, but those pea-sized dollops on your toothbrush twice a day add up. Over the course of a lifetime, the average American uses about 20 gallons of toothpaste, and even if you spit most of it out, some of the chemicals it contains make their way into your bloodstream.” Source
Take a minute today to look up a few of the ingredients in your toothpaste on one of the websites listed towards the end of this post. Here are some better alternatives to store-bought toothpaste.
We have three different versions of Thieves toothpaste.
The first is Dentarome Plus.
Thieves® Dentarome Plus Toothpaste contains ingredients such as thymol and eucalyptol that are found in clove and thyme essential oils, along with gentle, odor-absorbing baking soda. This one is also popular with some people who like to use it as deodorant 🙂
The second is Dentarome Ultra.
Thieves® Dentarome Ultra Toothpaste is an advanced formula of all-natural ingredients that gently cleans and whitens your teeth while harnessing the power of pure, therapeutic-grade Thieves essential oil blend for fresh breath. Dentarome Ultra is preferred by those concerned with the appearance of whiter teeth.
The last is AromaBright.
This is my personal favorite and the one I use all the time. This 4 oz. premium, all-natural toothpaste is made with pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils, including the cleansing and protective benefits of Thieves® essential oil blend. Its safe and effective formula provides a fortress of support for healthy gums, strong teeth, and a confident smile. It is the optimal choice for health-minded consumers.
The AromaBright is also now available as a 5 pack of 2 oz tubes, perfect for travel and/or stocking stuffers!

Thieves Spray is the bomb! No, seriously, when you pull out this ammunition, those unsightly beasties on public surfaces and public seating are left quaking in their boots, that is, until you give them a shot of clean! So, micro-organisms of contagion, you had better beware! This annihilator in a spray bottle is ideal for use on light switches, faucet handles, door handles, public toilet seats, kitchen and bathroom counters, or anywhere that needs a little cleanliness. For those unsanitary ‘out-and-about’ moments, this is PERFECT for your purse or backpack.

Thieves Foaming Hand Soap
With your skin being the largest organ in your body, it is the first line of defense against harmful substances. Because of its large surface area, the skin can soak in many types of toxins and petrochemicals.
Many people complain that commercial soaps make their skin feel dry and itchy, or worse. Trapped “free alkali” is the most common irritant in soap, which is made from oils (acids) mixed with water and alkali (a base).
Unfortunately, the term “natural” can be used in very deceptive ways. If an ingredient is fifth-generation derivative of coconut meat, some will claim it to be natural, even if you can’t pronounce the name of the ingredient.
Unfortunately, the US Food and Drug Administration does not regulate the ingredients in soap. Some of the ingredients are isopropyl alcohol, fragrances, DEA, FD & C colors, propylene glycol, and triclosan, and have been proven harmful to human health.
Thieves personal care products are a perfect addition to any room in your home. Thieves Foaming Hand Soap is a great alternative to commercial soaps laden with harsh chemicals.
Thieves Foaming Hand Soap gently cleans and conditions the skin with a blend of Thieves, Lemon, and Orange essential oils, as well as aloe and vitamin E.
I have this soap in every bathroom and kitchen in my house. I first got it in the Thieves ER Kit. Great way to start with detoxing your home. It is available as a foaming pump, a pack of three, and a refill bottle.

Thieves Household Cleaner
I got the BEST household product to talk about!
Who has not gotten the Thieves Household Cleaner?!?! Anyone?
It is one of my absolute favorite Young Living products and I know I’m not alone!
Have you ever looked on the labels of some of the typical household cleaners? Yea… Scary. If you aren’t familiar with these ingredients, do a quick Google search. You will be compelled to fill up a trash can of all the various cleaners you have under your sink. Many of the cleaners in the average home in America are banned in other countries. There is little to no regulation in labeling for these products. Even if a cleaning product is “green” or “natural”, do not be fooled; many are full of harmful toxins.
So now that you have no more cleaners in your home, what can you do? You may not believe me but there is only ONE cleaner you need… And you guessed it! It’s Thieves Household Cleaner!
This product is the one cleaning product that replaces all others! Yes! It’s that amazing!
Now you’re asking if it’s effective and truly gets the job done. Yes! Combining naturally-derived plant-based ingredients and lemon essential oil, Thieves Household Cleaner provides exceptional home cleaning and purifying power. You could literally eat off your floor!
And it is extremely economical. Not only are you only needing to keep one cleaner on hand, but it is highly concentrated and only requires a little of the concentrate to make each bottle of cleaning solution!
There are two options in sizes: a 14.4 fl oz bottle and a 64 oz bottle, which would last you forever.
And what cleaner says to “drink water” if accidentally swallowed? Yes. That’s what I want in MY home!
I could talk about Thieves Cleaner all day! And I actually enjoy cleaning with it!

Thieves Laundry Soap
The average family washes approximately 80 pounds of laundry per week! This means that 17.5 billion cups of laundry detergent are being used every year in the U.S. alone. Not only can you come in contact with caustic chemicals via your clothing from having been laundered in them, but you can breathe them into your lungs once they become airborne in the process of doing your laundry. The detergent you are using may contain a cocktail of potent cancer-causing chemicals, some of which the manufacturer doesn’t even have to list on the label. This loophole reduces the odds that you’ll ever discover what’s in there.
The good news is that Young Living just released their new Thieves Laundry Soap! This stuff is absolutely amazing. It comes highly concentrated and if you have a front load washer you only use 1/4 of a cap per load. This equals 1 tbsp per load. I’ve been using this soap for over a month now. My laundry is coming clean and I have been really pleased with this new product! The bottle is 32oz. which does 64 loads.

Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier
Thieves® Waterless Hand Purifier utilizes powerful essential oils to clean and purify hands. Moisturizing emollients, Aloe Vera and vegetable glycerin, enrich our formula and add their hydrating benefits. This product stays with me when I leave the house. I have one in the diaper bag (actually two, for when one runs out) and one in each of the two purses that I use. I love the convenient smaller size for that purpose, and I am so excited to have the bigger size available now! Instead of the antibacterial hand sanitizer with the toxic chemical Triclosan that my husband did have at his desk at work, now he has a bottle of Thieves hand purifier! Everyone loves how it smells, too.

Thieves Dish Soap
I’ve been using Thieves Dish Soap for a couple of weeks now, and I feel so much better using a safe alternative over the common dish soap (especially when I’m rinsing/cleaning out my kids’ sippy cups and other dishes.)
Common ingredients in most OTHER dish soaps include (but not limited to):
Dyes: derived from petrochemicals, and may be contaminated with trace amounts of heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium and lead. Dyes in cleaning products can be absorbed through the skin or ingested in the case of soap residue on dishes. Food-grade coloring has also been implicated in behavioral issues in children.
Fragrance: more than 3000 chemicals are used when making fragrance mixtures. These toxic fragrance compounds coat plates, glasses and silverware which ultimately become ingested when used. A safer alternative is to choose products scented with pure essential oils, not those with artificial chemicals.
Surfactants, or foaming agent such as Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or SLES, a widely-used surfactant, which is probably carcinogenic as it is contaminated with 1,4-dioxane.
Methylisothiazolinone: this is a highly corrosive chemical that has been found to be toxic when ingested, inhaled, or applied to the skin or eyes in animal studies.
Let’s opt for a better alternative!
